Line of Work transforms everyday building materials into a powerful yet protecting wave-form that reaches out to the sea. Individual occupations carved into the wood reflect the growing diversity of workers’ specific skills. Each piece tells its own story, yet together they become the story of British Columbia, marking shifts in the evolution of the province and the aspirations of its workforce from industries of the past, to trades of today, to the unfathomable future. Line of work is integrated into the folded green roof of the new Vancouver Convention Centre juxtaposing notions of ascension, aspiration and progress with those of shelter and protection.

« Il est le grand vieil arbre de banian qui se dresse majestueusement sur ​​la pelouse devant le Musée National de Singapore,  en apparence fort pour tenir un lieu plein d’histoires, des histoires et de magie.

Nous avons voulu faire allusion à toutes ces richesses et le symbolisme à travers une lecture contemporaine de l’arbre de banian. L’arbre est une reconstruction à partir d’une série d’images imbriquées avec des lumières qui palpite doucement dans la nuit. Les microphones suspendus simulant les racines aériennes permettront de détecter les sons environnant et de modifier la nature d’éclairage de l’arbre. Nous espérons que l’arbre inspira les gens à ralentir, à prendre une pause et tout simplement se prélasser et prendre part à cette recréation de l’émerveillement de la nature. »

Une librairie prend place dans le vignoble de l’abbaye de Saint-Pierre, à Gand en Belgique durant le festival TRACK.

Conçu par l’artiste italien Massimo Bartolini, l’installation est composée de 12 bibliothèques en harmonie avec les vignes.

Les livres sont fournis par les bibliothèques publiques de Gand et d’Anvers et sont à vendre dont les profits seront versés à des bibliothèques.

TRACK est un prétexte pour créer des conversations urbaines, grâce à 41 artistes internationaux éparpillés à travers la ville de Gand.

Yes, Goodbye consists of a two-part site specific installation and accompanying zine. The dual title reflects the decision to have the zine available in both English and Swedish because it was given away for free to the general public at the exhibition.

The installation was shown at the Malmö Art Academy during their Yearly Exhibition in Malmö, Sweden. The first part was installed in my studio and consisted of a small potted forest and related drawings and photographs I had made. On the last day of the exhibition the small trees were planted in the back yard of the school, without permission. They were arranged in a way where they were not visible to the passerby, but only from the third and fourth-story windows of the school or if someone physically walked into the space where they were.

The trees were planted the day before I left Malmö. I came back a month later and they were in a mess of tall grass surrounded by perfectly mowed grass, as if the gardener did not know what to do with them. A friend of mine who was traveling checked on them again for me a month and half after that, and they had completely disappeared.
